- Representing Japanese and foreign companies
as defendants in labor lawsuits before all levels of courts of Japan. This has included conducting witness
examinations, and preparing pleadings and submissions. Significant matters related to labor laws handled
to date include:
・ Representing
a Japanese subsidiary of a Finnish company in a labor lawsuit, defending the
company from the plaintiff’s claim for compensation for damages arising out of power
harassment.
・ Representing
a variety of companies in more than 45 labor tribunal proceedings over
dismissals, compensation, etc.

- Representing foreign and domestic companies
in collective bargaining negotiations with labor unions and assisting the
companies in managing their relationships with labor unions.

- Providing a variety of corporate legal advice
in connection with labor and employment laws, the Civil Code, the Commercial
Code and other Japanese laws and regulations.
